The Ranch in the early 90’s used the 212 idea for a theme, “will you ride for the 212 brand?”This theme was carried by some of the campers into their public school and was used to name a Bible Study.
At the Ranch, the paintball program was beginning. It started with a small club of dedicated people who would come up, go into the woods (there were no fields yet), and play. This small group took the initiative, and began to expand the program. Fields were built of scrap lumber and fallen trees. Sometimes even rocks were used to build bunkers. Eventually, the paintball program moved across the road from the woods near camp to its current spot, and the construction process began again. As more and more people came into the program, it was finally decided that it needed a name of its own.
In 2006, when the Ranch was considering names for the program, “212 Paintball” was thrown out there by the Director of the Ranch. It soon stuck with many of the players and was seen in drawings around the paintball shed.
Today, our program continues to expand. We now have 8 fields, all of which are different and unique to play. Our staff is always changing and growing, and you can still find some of the original small band of guys that brought up the program. Most importantly, however, the number of people that we reach with the gospel of Jesus Christ continues to grow.
